Variations on a theme.

Unmistaken identity. Under the theme “Design in Motion,” the Seattle Design Festival invited designers, businesses, community groups, and the public to “playfully explore the way design moves us.” We captured that kinetic energy in a brand identity that provided both emotional appeal and cohesion—plus a bit of designer cool—to the festival’s print and online communications.

Colors on display. We helped spread the word about the festival with a series of posters and postcards, each colorfully capturing the concept of motion. We also helped participants tell who was who with a comprehensive (and collectible!) system of branded ID badges.

Where to go, what to do. With four days of talks, tours, films, and workshops spread across Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood, navigating options had to be simple. We helped participants find their way with door signage and posted agendas for event spaces, as well as an easy-to-browse catalog describing each day’s events.
